![]() ![]() rooftop area on lvl 8 where you can get a view of the surrounding areas. there is a shared communal kitchen with microwave/dishwasher and fridge but you have to label the products you buy yourself or else if the product is expired or doesn't have a label they chuck it away. check in process was easy and smooth -they have coffee machine at lobby area and lots of places to sit and lounge -swimming pool on lvl 2 with towels you can grab yourself there. Stayed at the end of Nov/early Dec 2022 for 6 nights Pros: -building is very instagrammable, they even have photo icons on the ground to guide you where to stand to take photos. I had absolute faith and would like to continue giving my support to Ascott despite this awful stay. Dear Citadines Rocher, please review your services. It was not cleared even upon checking out. We took our own trash out of the room since day 1 of check-in. We also chanced upon 2 medical workers fully donned in PPE escorted a guest to the ambulance. The least the management could do was to provide a mask or sanitizers to guests. We were notified by a letter from the management. There were confirmed COVID-19 cases within my period of stay. This hotel was most probably a designated hotel used for both Malaysian citizens who were unable to return home due to locked borders, as well as returning Singaporeans to serve their mandatory 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN). However, it was an overall disappointing experience, and here’s why: 1. Citadines Rocher (recently opened in 2020) was one of my top choices in having a local staycation because of its location and price range. I hope Singapore health department does the right thing and shuts this down.Īs an Ascott group member, there are decent expectations of an Ascott experience in all the properties in which I had once stayed (Ascott, Somerset, Citadines). ![]() I've been hosteling for over 20 years and it's almost always been a positive experience. The hostel attracted the worst people, and most inconsiderate roommates. There were used bandaids wedged into the shower and a used rusty razor blade shoved into the shower's water heater. The room itself had a leaky aircon pipe which dripped ice water on me as I tried to sleep. There were guests / squatters sleeping on each of the couches throughout the hostel I saw at least 4 squatters. There was a pile of vomit on the table which was left overnight. The male washroom door was perpetually held open with a string cord so that some guests could dry their clothes, thereby violating any sense modesty of those using the showers as well as women passing by the door. The floors and surfaces were filthy with brown or black sticky substances and mold. The urinals are broken and covered in plastic bags. It is by far the filthiest hostel I have ever stayed in. I hope that Singapore government shuts it down. I have reported the hostel to the Singapore health authorities, and have followed up on the report. It's filthy, squalid, and shockingly bad. Will definitely come back here when we return to SG. Excellent stay and highly recommend to others. And Vijay turned up early (6.30am) when their office only opens at 9am, to make sure we got our airport transfer on time. ![]() Service was top notched, they changed our airport transfer to a bigger vehicle when we explained the huge number of luggage we had at no additional cost. Village Residence Hougang is truly a hidden gem. Easy access to the malls through a side gate so we could buy our groceries and food easily, including a pair of goggles □. Love that they had bbq pits for us to book, and sufficient pool lounge seats and tables for family poolside gatherings. Love love love the pool! It was huge, my kids loved it. It was like a home away from home, with comfortable rooms, excellent facilities, washer and dryer, laundry rack.
